GOLDEN GLOBE, SAG AND NAACP AWARD NOMS FOR IDRIS, LUTHER

Huge congratulations to Idris Elba, who has received a fistful of award nominations this week, and to the Luther team, who also received a nod.

Idris picked up two Golden Globe Award nominations announced today. He has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for DCI John Luther in the forthcoming Luther special, and for Best Performance by an Actor In A Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for the role of the Commandant in the movie Beasts of No Nation.

The Screen Actors Guild Award nomations were also announced this week, with Idris collecting three nominations, for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture for Beasts of No Nation, and Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for Luther.

NAACP (National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People) Image Award nominations included two more for Idris, for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Beasts of No Nation) and Outstanding Actor in a Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special (Luther).

Luther the show was also nominated for an NAACP award, for Outstanding Television Movie, Mini-Series or Dramatic Special.
